The First Years Quick Serve Bottle Warmer

This bottle warmer really is a nice product to have. We give this a four-star rating.

"Heat up bottles quickly, evenly and safely with the Quick Serve Bottle Warmer.
It accommodates all types and sizes of bottles - straight, angled and wide-necked - and the lift-out basket lets you warm up baby food jars and disposable bottles, too. Add just the right amount of water with the included measuring dropper and grid. The warmer's steam heat is consistent and even, and a quiet light will indicate when the bottle is ready. Features automatic shutoff."

The only draw back we found was it's difficult to determine how much water to put in for the steam. By process of trial and error, you can figure it out on your own. There is guideline in the book, but we found it not to be quite accurate. Once we figured out how much water per how many ounces of formula we were heating, this product was wonderful!

We found this for $19.99 at Babies R Us.

Peek-A-Boo Bib

Chocolate Cake Club's Peek-A-Boo Bib

This really is the greatest bib I've found yet! It is extremely durable as well as machine wash and dryable. It is made of nylon canvas and has a pocket to catch dropped food etc. It is a larger size, which is great, 15" x 10" with a 4" neck in diameter. You can't beat the price at only $8 per bib!

I give this product a 4 star rating. I tried so many bibs over the past couple of years, including disposable ones, and found this to be the best bib for your money. I found it at Chocolate Cake Club and they also provide matching dishes and accessories if you're looking for the perfect gift for someone. It also comes in green.

The only drawback on this item: you must wipe off wet spills immediately to avoid staining. I'm one of those moms who doesn't like to put stained bibs on my son, I know it's silly, but I am. If he spills something like applesauce or spaghetti sauce or baby food, it should be wiped off right away. If you let it sit, it may sink into the nylon although spraying it with OxyClean does help! It's very thick and won't let food, even wet stuff, seep through which has saved so many shirts for my son! I love this bib and would highly recommend it. The rating of 4 is only due to the stain factor.

Crocodile Creek Plastic Placemats

Crocodile Creek Plastic Kids Placemats - Dinosaur

These placemats are GREAT! For months I was using our cloth placemats for my son and having to wash them every day or so which caused incredible wear and tear. I found this really great website, Chocolate Cake Club, and saw these placemats.

They were only $4 each and wipe clean in seconds! They are oversized a bit so your child has plenty of room to eat and make a mess without hitting tabletop! The designs, and there are many of them, keep my son very busy in between bites. The colors are vibrant and all placemats are made of polypropylene and are PVC free! I found quite a few other items on their website as well. Great new find!

Playtex BPA Free VentAire Standard Reusable Bottles

Want to avoid gasiness and colic? These bottles are your ticket to freedom! I give them a FOUR star rating. Because of their unique shape, bubbles are removed from the formula or milk BEFORE your baby consumes it. Therefore, less gasiness!
  • 100% BPA & Phthalate Free

  • Clinically shown to reduce gas, spit up, and colic.

  • Helps prevent ear infections

  • Prevents air indigestion during feeding

  • Improved flow rate, makes it easier for baby to drink
As your child gets older, buy fast flow nipples to replace the ones the bottles come with. It's an added expense, but worth it if your child isn't gassy, spitting up or colicky! They are a bit expensive, but if you buy them in gift packs, it's a bit more reasonable.
